• We accept all major credit cards. Credit cards will be maintained on file and run on the morning of your appointment.

  • No, we are self-pay only practice.

For more on our financial policies and equitable sliding scale please see this link.

  • We have a 48-hour cancellation policy.

If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice you will be charged a $50 fee unless you can make up the session another time that week and our schedules align.

  • When meeting virtually for sessions you will need your own art supplies, but this can be as simple as a pen and paper. If you have access and interest in using more than that - cool! I'm totally game.

  • Awesome! I'm not here to judge or critique your work. Instead, I'm here to witness your process. I might encourage you to scribble, draw stick figures, or just get your hands wet and see what happens. As cliche as it sounds, it's about the journey. You can think of everything we do as a learning experiment!

  • Email me at info@beacrookedtree.com and we'll schedule an initial intake session or a free 15 minute call to explore if we are a good fit. I'll also answer any questions you might have. You can also call or text 727-201-2190.

  • Yes, at this time I'm only available for online sessions. All sessions are via a confidential and HIPAA-compliant platform.

  • I generally respond to all emails/texts/phone calls within 2 business days.

I do not work on Sundays.

Availability varies by day but includes mornings, afternoons, and evening appointments. I am on Eastern time.

  • I find that if you've read this far into my website, we're probably a pretty good match! If you're still not sure, email me for a free 15-minute consultation call, and we can feel things out. If at any point along the way you don't think we're a good therapeutic fit just let me know - I'll do my best to find you someone who is!

  • I really try not to. I don't think it's all that helpful, and it's the opposite of how I view human capacity and resilience.

Both therapy and coaching are about empowering you to tap into your inner resources and use what you already have within you. I might ask you a bunch of questions and help you see multiple perspectives of a situation, but you are the expert on you.

  • I wish I knew!

Some people find benefit in just a few sessions and others love the regular support over the long term. For lots of us, we've spent a life time being misunderstood or even maybe misunderstanding ourselves, so it's going to take some time to work through it all. I think it's essential we talk about your needs and expectations for therapy throughout the process, but ultimately we end when you feel ready. Most clients start weekly and then titrate to every other week or monthly over time.

  • I work with adults of all ages, but millennials and Gen Z adults are my jam.

  • Those receiving counseling services must be in Florida at the time of session.

Those receiving coaching or education services can be anywhere in world at the time of session.

    Sessions are on EST.

You'll need a quiet and private space for sessions.

  • Nope, I’m not a grad student.

I’m just a middle-aged human who didn’t do things in order.

I graduated with my Masters in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling more years ago than I’d like to count…way back in 2011.

While I have over a decade of combined counseling & coaching experience, I never pursued formal licensure. Part of it was working in counseling settings that didn’t require it, and part of it was me resisting some of the oppressive societal systems that licensure upholds. Things have shifted, and I find myself deeply called to working with neurodivergent folks in my authentic way - and it requires licensure. So here I am, all these years later starting over and working toward an independent license.

So, what does it actually mean?

In Florida, a therapist must work as a Registered Intern for roughly two years, amassing a certain number of client and supervision hours before they are eligible for independent licensure and practice.

So, instead of working on these hours at the start of my career, I’m doing them now - in true Kristina backward fashion. It also means I meet weekly with my super cool supervisor for feedback and guidance on providing the best care.
